Showing 26-50 (page 2) 10 views

The plastic pipe cutters in this group cover pipes from a few millimetres up to Ø315mm. The article groups them by cutting diameter, pipe material and operating mechanism. The MCC Japan line includes VC-0327 cutting up to Ø27mm and VC-0334 up to Ø34mm. Larger steps include VC-0348 for pipes up to Ø48mm and VC-0363 up to Ø63mm. ELORA Germany is represented by 182-26-E-B covering the 0–26mm range, with a PTFE-coated blade that reduces friction.

The 182-42-E-B model handles PE, PP, PVC, PVDF and PB pipes up to Ø42mm. REMS Germany adds the ROS P75P cutting up to 75mm and the Cut 110P set. These plastic pipe cutter models suit plumbing and electrical technicians as well as industrial maintenance work. All article numbers are genuine imports from MCC, ELORA and REMS.

The plastic pipe cutters in this product group cover pipes from a few millimetres up to Ø315mm. This article groups them by cutting diameter, pipe material and operating mechanism. The MCC Japan range includes VC-0327 cutting up to Ø27mm and VC-0334 up to Ø34mm.

These plastic pipe cutters suit plumbers, electricians and industrial maintenance work. All article numbers are genuine imports from MCC, ELORA and REMS.

Plastic pipe cutters: scope of the product group

The plastic pipe cutters in this group are used for cutting PVC, CPVC, PE, PP, PEX, ABS, PVDF, PB and composite pipes. The diameter range extends from small pipes of a few millimetres up to large 315mm pipes. The brands represented are MCC Japan, ELORA Germany and REMS Germany. Each maker has its own blade layout and operating mechanism, suited to different installation situations.

The MCC range includes several models arranged by specific diameter steps. Among them are VC-0327 cutting up to Ø27mm and VC-0334 cutting up to Ø34mm. A larger step is covered by VC-0348 for Ø48mm pipes. Buyers choose according to the pipe diameter they most often encounter in their work.

Classification by cutting diameter

The diameter of the pipe to be cut determines most of the selection. Small pipes under 27mm call for compact models operated with one hand. The medium group from 27mm to 63mm accounts for most residential plumbing and electrical work. Large pipes from 75mm upwards require tools with a screw spindle or a U-shaped frame. This mechanism helps maintain a steady cutting force around the full circumference of the pipe.

Small and medium diameter pipes

For small pipes, ELORA's 182-26-E-B cuts the range from 0mm to Ø26mm, with a PTFE-coated blade to reduce friction. In the same range, MCC's VC-0220 cuts PVC, PE and PP pipes up to Ø26mm in a classic style with alloy handles. Two different design approaches for the same diameter range.

In the medium range, 182-42-E-B handles pipes from 0 to 42mm and can be used on PE, PP, PVC, PVDF and PB. On the MCC side, VC-0342A cuts up to Ø42mm and comes with a jig for cutting plastic trunking. The VC-0242 model also cuts up to Ø42mm in the classic style dating from 1979.

At the Ø63mm mark there are three clear options. VC-0363 works with a one-hand ratchet mechanism and has an integrated pipe chamfering hole. VC-0163 uses a long lever arm with a stainless steel blade engaging long-pitch teeth, completing a cutting cycle in 5 steps. ELORA's 182-63 cuts up to Ø63mm for both thin-walled and flexible pipes.

Large diameter pipes

Once pipes exceed the 63mm mark, a conventional scissor mechanism no longer has enough travel. Models for large pipes use a rigid frame, a screw spindle or pressure rollers to guide the blade around the pipe circumference. This group is commonly found in the installation of building water supply and drainage systems. It is also used for technical pipelines and large plastic pipe runs on site.

In this range, REMS 291101 cuts up to 75mm, with steel handles covered in hard plastic and a moving jaw mechanism with a fine cutting step. The 290400 set includes a pipe cutting tool for diameters up to 110mm with an integrated chamfering function. Both are made in Germany.

For even larger pipes, RAS P has a U-shaped frame, a rigid screw spindle and hardened pressure rollers, working on pipes of 160mm diameter. The REMS article 290300 handles the 180mm to 315mm range. From MCC, PE- comprises two models for pipes up to Ø150mm or Ø200mm, with a powder-coated aluminium alloy frame.

Classification by blade type and operating mechanism

The blade type directly affects the quality of the cut and the hand force required. The ratchet group divides the force over several squeezes, suiting thick and rigid pipes. The V-blade group bites into the pipe wall on the first stroke, suiting soft and thin-walled pipes. The single-blade group has a simple design for quick work on soft plastic and rubber hoses.

The ratchet mechanism appears in MCC's VC-03 range, represented by VC-03 with five models covering Ø27mm to Ø63mm. The cut is flat, burr-free and does not crack the pipe. The classic VC-02 range offers two sizes, Ø26mm and Ø42mm, in a style familiar to repair technicians.

Among V-blade models, JTC-42 cuts thin and soft plastic pipes up to Ø42mm, with a sharp point on the blade assisting the first penetration. In the same group, JTC-37 works on pipes up to Ø37mm and on insulation materials. The single-blade JPC-37 is intended for soft PVC, PE, PEX and rubber hoses up to Ø37mm.

Cutting plastic trunking, conduit and flexible conduit

Electrical installation work involves plastic materials other than pipework. Cable protection trunking, conduit, cable trays and flexible conduit all need to be cut to size on site. This group includes models with specific blade shapes and jaw openings. That makes it possible to keep the cut square or to form a bevel for joining.

The trunking cutter DCM-70 has a body 242mm long, weighs 400g and can be operated with one hand during electrical work. The larger version is DCM-90, cutting up to 90mm, adjustable to various trunking sizes and allowing square cuts or 45-degree bevels. Both are made in Japan.

For sleeves and outer covers, ADC-101 measures 305mm and is used on conduit, cable trays and support sleeves in HVAC and refrigeration work. Flexible conduit from Ø19mm to Ø48mm falls within the scope of SP-. In addition, VCM-0348 cuts Ø48mm pipes and can also cut plastic trunking.

How to choose according to the job

The first step is to determine the largest outside diameter of the pipe you regularly cut. Next comes the pipe material, since soft pipes, thin-walled pipes and composite pipes call for a different blade type than rigid PVC. Only then should you weigh up the weight, handle length and the need for chamfering right at the cut.

Plumbers and electricians who move around a lot generally prefer light models operated with one hand. REMS article 291420 uses a magnesium body with a handle covered in a soft anti-slip layer, cutting soft plastic pipe in a single stroke. For tools already in long service, replacement accessories such as 291244 R include 4 blades for the REMS ROS P 26/SW 35.

You can filter by diameter, brand or pipe type directly on the category page to narrow the selection.
