Carried on the back, the EPOCA Star sprayer handles watering and plant protection work in three tank sizes: 12, 16 and 20 litres. The pump sits inside the tank and can be removed for cleaning. A side-mounted lever lets the operator swap hands while pumping. Lance options include hard plastic or brass. Made in Italy.
A backpack garden sprayer built in Italy, the EPOCA Star family covers three tank sizes: 12, 16 and 20 litres. The pump is integrated inside the tank body. Its lever sits on the side of the frame, so the operator can switch pumping hands during long sessions. The filler opening is wide and funnel-shaped, with a strainer screen that keeps debris out of the solution.
Six models make up the family. Three carry a hard plastic lance, three carry a brass lance. Apart from the lance material, construction and packing are identical across the pairs. Each unit ships in its own carton, printed the same way, with only the model name changing. The lance clips onto the tank body, so nothing dangles while the operator walks between rows. A moulded handle doubles as the anchor point for the shoulder straps.
The tank shell forms the main structure and holds the pump assembly inside. Filling is done through a flared funnel neck fitted with a mesh strainer. Powders and diluted liquids pass through while lumps stay out. The top handle is used to lift the unit and to thread the shoulder straps. Stated tank volume is the container capacity, so usable volume is always somewhat lower.
Straps and handle keep the load centred on the back during continuous work. Because the lance parks on the tank, the operator has both hands free when climbing, opening gates or moving hoses. Refilling through the wide neck reduces spillage when mixing on site. The strainer also protects the pump and nozzle from particles that would otherwise cause blockages during spraying.
The pumping unit is housed within the tank and can be taken out for cleaning. That matters when switching between plain water and plant protection mixtures. The side lever position allows left or right hand operation. Two lance materials are offered: hard plastic or brass. The choice depends on the chemistry of the solution and on personal handling preference.
All sealing gaskets use tropicalised synthetic rubber, intended for prolonged service in warm climates. Since components are sold separately, a worn seal or a damaged nozzle does not mean replacing the whole unit. Regular rinsing after use, together with periodic removal of the pump, keeps the delivery circuit clear and the spray pattern consistent.
Typical use covers watering ornamental plants, nurseries and home gardens. The sprayer also serves for applying plant protection products in orchards, vegetable plots and greenhouses. Municipal grounds teams use backpack units for spot treatment along paths and beds. Smaller 12-litre tanks suit confined rows and long walking distances. The 20-litre size reduces refill stops on open plots. Brass lances are often preferred where solutions are more aggressive.
The catalogue lists plastic-lance models 8408, 8409 and 8410 alongside brass-lance models 8414, 8415 and 8416. Recorded container volumes are 14200, 17020 and 20500 ml. Packed dimensions run 425x156x512, 425x171x512 and 425x200x512 mm, with weights of 3.46, 3.50 and 3.62 kg. Pallet quantities are 54, 50 and 35 cartons. Within each pair, only the lance material differs.
Selection is straightforward: pick the tank size first, then the lance material, then order the matching model code. Packing format, internal layout and accessory set stay the same across the range, which simplifies stocking spare parts for a mixed fleet.
