The stainless steel and copper pipe cutter REMS RAS Cu-INOX Mini S, code 113241 R, is a hand-held pipe cutter from REMS. It cuts pipes with an outside diameter from 3 to 28 mm, i.e. 1/8 to 1 1/8 inch. The manufacturer states the cutter is intended for copper pipes. It also works for thin-walled stainless steel pipes and thin-walled steel pipes. It also works for aluminium pipes and brass pipes. The cutter wheel presses against the pipe wall. The cutter is rotated around the pipe. It is tightened a little further with each turn. This cutting method produces an evenly round cut edge without deforming the pipe. The support rollers keep the pipe centred throughout the cutting process.

The spindle on the handle adjusts the opening width to the pipe size. The letter S in the name indicates the version with rollers running on needle bearings, which reduces the turning force required. The Mini version has a compact body, suitable when the pipe is close to a wall or inside a service duct. For stainless steel pipes, the manufacturer recommends using the Cu-INOX cutter wheel designed for stainless steel. The cutter wheel can be replaced when worn. The cutter suits air conditioning installers, plumbers and mechanical and electrical technicians.
Clamp lightly, turn one full rotation and then tighten a little further each time, rather than tightening hard in one go. Keep the cutter perpendicular to the pipe so the cut does not run off at an angle. When cutting stainless steel pipes, tighten more slowly than with copper pipes. Supplied in a hanging blister pack according to the manufacturer's packaging format. Clean chips and metal dust off the cutter wheel after use. Apply a little oil to the spindle and rollers, and store the cutter in a dry place.
